The Textile Timeline

A collaborative project together with the artist Anna Nordström with support from Swedish Arts Grants Committee, 2021

 

A performative and public lecture/exhibition with words, objects, overhead, photographs, illustrations and material samples, a screen-printed fringe and a variety of expressive objects that explain and describe the history of textiles along a timeline, where terms such as sustainability, climate anxiety and textile production are mapped on an illustrative and painful enlightening way. From spinning a thread with a spindle in the Stone Age, to today's large-scale fiber production.

 

The project was exhibited at hangmenProjects in May 2021.
