Monument of Loose Objects (The Diligent Vindication of In-Betweens), 2023

An installation of sculptural objects. An abstracted world of textile forms. Using scraps, everyday tools, and found objects, I created my own collection of items without any real museal value. I wanted to give these things a sense of restitution and a new life. Monument of Loose Objects (The Diligent Vindication of In-Betweens) is a work consisting of seven freestanding textile sculptures made from fabric remnants—cuttings from garment pieces dating back to the 1950s and 1960s. With the help of wooden sticks, wire, thin steel springs, strong thread, and safety pins, I set this discarded fabric back on its feet, transforming it into fragile standing sculptures.

I wanted to reveal the invisible and the rejected. Decay became my building material. I allowed the traces of the scissors’ cuts and the unraveling threads to remain, preserved in a newly solidified form. The act of sculptural construction became a way to resist further disintegration.
